Yeah, because where you grew up is the same place where everyone grew up. Who knows what the kid will go through. The kid will live in a different environment, and grow up with a different generation of children than you did. This isn't even something most kids would know about anyway, unless the child made it known to anyone purposely.

Where I grew up was considerably tame compared to many other areas. While a lot of what I know of such places comes from TV (the news) and reading online, it makes very little difference because kids across north america need little reason to be mean to another.

And how would they find out? Really? Kids are MASTERS OF THE INTERNET right now, it wouldn't take much with stuff like this published. Plus parents talking about it and their kids over-hearing. There are a bajillion ways to find out since even pre-birth it's no secret.

I'm curious, what are your thoughts on gay couples adopting or borrowing an egg/sperm from donation? Do you feel they're selfish as well? Interracial couples? Those are some other parents that would stand out and may lead to bullying. Either answer you give is fine, this isn't meant to be some test or lead up into anything. I'd just like a better idea of your ideas for personal reference.

I have no problem with anything that isn't incest, beastiality or child abuse. I am strongly for homosexual relationships. And I don't think anyone cares about interracial relationships anymore (not that they ever should have). I understand that this is hypocritical and I really have no good argument as to why they shouldn't be together besides it being biologically wrong. Not to mention I am completely incapable of forming a compelling argument so even if I had good reasons, they'd be overshadowed by my incompetent methods of proposing them.

I will say no more on this issue.

Its creepy as hell but I'm not the kind of person to really judge others. What people do is their own business. As long as it doesn't effect me then I say go for it.

Media loves blowing thing out of proportion. Don't see anything new there. I've never once encountered anyone being bullied in my life, and I grew up in the Bronx (supposed to be a pretty bad city in New York, but the schools didn't really have much bad going on there).

But I see what you're getting at. I just feel that if you're bullied as a kid, it more being in the wrong place at the wrong time than it is having something like this stand out. My school had tons of misfits in it, kids that I'm sure would have been bullied had they gone to school where bullying was rampant.

Because children are going to google the last name of every one of their classmates to dig up dirt on them. This isn't even a big article that's running along the news everywhere (or at least, I don't think so). It's not going to be in the spotlight, so it's not like it's easy to just stumble on 10 years later.

I'm sure real bullies would rather pick on someone with the obvious weakness anyway, rather than going out of their way to research weaknesses. Why try hard to find information on a kid to bully them, when you can just bully Abu, the smelly kid with the funny hat and accent.

But these are children, who would pick on each other for childish things. You think the children care that interacial relationships are fine? Or that homosexuality is okay? They may not even truly have any hate twards these pairings, but they just have fun picking at them. I'm sure whoever you picked on when you were younger was someone who's issues weren't a big deal at all.

lol, the kid will have the same grandmother and mother. Except she'll be more of a grandmother due to her age. I don't think this is fair on the kid. Imagine when the kid is a teenager. If the mother is still alive, she'll be 85! I'm not sure that an 85 year old would understand teenage issues of todays society that well.
