First it was Aran. Then the coming of Dragon Master Evan has sent shockwaves through Maple World. Surely you didn’t believe that the return of the Black Mage’s two greatest foes would go unanswered by the dark powers, did you? Now just in time for MapleStory’s fifth anniversary, the cry goes out for the mightiest Maplers to take flight against an evil beyond imagination--Dragonoir!

Any class of level 100+ can answer the call of adventure by finding Chief Tatamo of Leafre and completing a series of quests. Once you do, you’ll be granted the greatest of boons--the power to fly! This power has a serious purpose though. You’ll take on legions of evil dragons and battle your way to conquering the Dragon Rider--Dragonoir. Once at the entrance of the great Dragon Rider’s lair, you’ll need to party up with two of your peers to face him.

Of course, defeating Dragonoir has its rewards. When you defeat him, you’ll receive a box belonging to your class. Open it to find some sweet surprises--among them are the new Durability Items!
(More information on Durability Items coming soon!)

Think you have what it takes to battle this great winged force of destruction? Good luck Maplers!

Seriously, don't they notice how stupid they sound with that last sentence?

I like the name change and am somewhat excited to fight him, even though I'll never see its death. Frown And as many of you feel, I am very against all these repeating "Get some NX today!" post end-ers. Rolleyes

It does make sense in a way since you'll probably want safety charms for this, unless you're at 0%.

Why would you want safety charms for this?

You get to come back to the map if you die, but you lose regular exp when you do. Seduce and/or damage reflect will probably kill you on your first try, and the dragon rider's room has a 20-second potion cooldown.

Warning: careful when you fall long distances in the Dragon Rider PQ maps. IF you hit the ground from a high distance you recieve in excess of 3k damage, and you lose full EXP if you die. I did this while completing the prequests, and I didn't feel like flying down.

When is this thing supposed to happen? I don't see a date anywhere besides them mentioning the 5th Anniversary. And Chief Tatamo has no quests for me.

Should be after the patch finishes. Which is supposed to happen on the 5th.
