For some reason I died on the first pole on the second map. Before you say anything, YES the pole was clear before I crossed over. I followed the pole to the other platform, and yes, the top orb was clear of the platform. I jump on it, and the next thing I know, I hit a teleporter (i think), and I end up way below where I was, and moreover, dead by pole.

The green and red circles should give an idea of how far I fell.
I am sure I did not clip the pole, and I didn't fall by missing the platform, so why did I die?
(oh, and in case you are wondering why I'm over here, I just finished the Phantom Seed quest, and wanted to do something different before farming leps. ^_^)

No, I landed on the platform, and the orb was under the platform. THEN I was warped down, and promptly spiked.

No. It was more like a MesoGears portal, where you are falling down, but then you are warped back up.

Weird...Have you tried to do it again? (I would myself but don't want to die atm)

I did notice that the hitbox on the totem seems a bit taller than the thing itself. I was on a rope during the first part, didn't touch the totem, but died anyway. It hit me even though no part of me was touching it.
And if I recall, dying in the air can cause you to seemingly teleport to the ground sort of like you're describing.

Yeah, I can confirm that dying in the air will forcefully throw you to the ground as if you were teleporting.

Yup. That is THE best way to get around it. No risk of death or anything.

That happened to me b4 and yes it's a glitch. Somehow the menhir can hit you even if you're clear away from it.

The hitbox for the menhir is bigger than the menhit itself. Even if you just get too close to the orb, it'll kill you because it uses the same hitbox width as the rest of the totem.

The pillar is bigger than it looks. Sometimes when you get too close, you'll die too without touching it. What you see is not what you get.

ive had this happen too, but its not a glitch. The problem is that the "damage box" that surrounds the pole does not wrap to the pole perfectly. Height wise it does, but for width, it is dependent on the widest part of the pole. So . represents the top of the pole, but the width of the widest part is actually [ ] so the effect of the area at the top is actually [ . ] and not exactly on the ball at the top.
