could i cheat HG/SS to get 2 pichu's?

to clarify, would it be possible to move one spiky-eared pichu to the pokewalker, xfer the pikachu-colored pichu out, restart the game, xfer the pichu back over, then get the spiky eared one again, and then take the first pichu out of the walker to get 2 spiky-eared pichu's?

if the game is reset or something, I'm fairly certain returning a pokemon from the walker back into that game makes that pokemon get released.

Spikey Eared Pikachu is untradable. HGSS is no fun without a walker, so ROMs get boring. Then there's the stability issue.
