Achilles + Power Guard
#1
Hello.

I'm wondering a very simple question. Does Achilles 15% reduction stack additively or multiplicatively with PG's 40%?

Additive would mean you take 45% of original damage (53% of Achilles damage), and multiplicative 51% (60% of Achilles damage). It's not a big difference but it has larger implications for such stacking situations in general. In particular, Combo Barrier + Magic Shield + Achilles/PG/Meso/Invincible/etc would lead to some pretty crazy damage reductions if they were all additive.

I'd like screenshot evidence, if possible.

Multiplicative. Achilles removes 15% off income damage. That is, the damage you take shown on your screen. Can't prove it, but it's simple theory: PG deals 40% of the damage back. How much would be dealt back if Achilles were applied? The same if multiplicative (so that Achilles is done before/after PG (it's done after)), but it would do 55% if Achilles were applied additive. If not, then the damage shown dealt to the monster (non-boss) would be almost exact as the damage dealt to you (40 vs 45).

That makes sense.

AUUUGUHHHHHHH -throws a fit-
Why the hell does Barrier and Meso Guard stack additively then.

Like I said in the IRC when we were all derping about whether or not it was additive or multiplicative: It's Nexon.

Level 4 Achilles, before the apparent "it doesn't show the right number" fix.

EDIT: You know, it would help a lot more if I had the skill window open xD But currently I have lvl 5 Achilles, and I'm lvl 159 now.

 Other before/after pics for comparison

That's not it though. Code doesn't work that way. If they were stupid, it won't work in the first place. They would've had to purposefully and carefully screw it up.
