Generally, I'm pretty sure updating and maintaining servers requires several people. And while more might come, it's hard to just "pass the torch" without giving them a full update on what they've done already, which still takes time. Either way, they're on duty for 12 or so hours.

I was referring to Nexon. There was no statement of hope there, anywhere. :f6:

Network outages are pretty easy to pass the torch on. You tell them it's down and who've been working with, they sit and wait for the provider to fix it. Most network issues aren't with something you have control over, that's why they take so long to fix.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

Heh, I was sure the saying "don't put all your eggs into one basket" came from the idea of not putting all your hope into one thing. And my dad uses it that way. Every damn day. Tongue

Meh. Networking is my least studied computer subject, so I can't really comment more on it.

Actually that idiom is a cautionary tale not to be dependant on a single route of success. It's really got nothing to do with hopes and more to do with paranoia and contingency plans. Counting your chickens before the eggs are hatched on the other hand is about expectations and might be more what you were interpreting as.
