Regarding Throwing Stars.
#1
Hi guys,

I don't really know how to name this thread, but yea, it's about throwing stars. Pardon me if it's already been asked and answered.

First, take a look at my attack ranges (please bare with the noobieness),
 Icies
 Ilbis

the point here is that both are shown to be the same, while, take another look at the stars being thrown, we see the difference.

So the question here is: What dmg was I actually doing, the shown dmg on stats window or the actual dmg when applying Icicle Throwing Stars?

I know it's a pretty stupid question but it irks me to know that I could buy a Fury and start throwing Subis at zak and not actually do it.

EDIT: Just to clarify the case, seeing as the pictures don't show as much information as intended to, I was 'equipped' with the Ilbi on the first slot (hence the same range in both cases), however, when I switched the Icies to in front of the last Ilbi, I started throwing Icies with the same dmg range. Lolwut?

You're doing the Icy damage. Same concept as archers + Soul Arrow. Damage range in stat window is not necessarily what you're hitting.

Thought so. Soul Arrow = +0 attack, correct? I think I picked this piece of info somewhere before. Thanks for your confirmation anyway. =)

...

and I'm tempted to do this Stunned

Damage range shows the first "attack"'s damage, which would use the 1 Ilbi. When you use L7, it needs 2 stars, so it goes for a pair of Icicles.

As far as I know, Soul Stars is the only skill that will take stars from multiple sets - but it will only take from the same kind. Eg. if your inventory is 1 ilbi (100 stars), 1 icicle (1000), 1 ilbi (1000), and you cast it, you end up with 1 ilbi (0) 1 icicle (1000) 1 ilbi (900). Then the next time you use it, icicles drops to 800. If you have <200 stars left of a given kind is the only time it'll skip a set.

Makes a lot of sense when you put it that way. The amount/type of stars are determined when the offensive ability is invoked, hence implementing the effects of the stars chosen for the ability. I get it, thanks Steoreo. Redface
