did you base this off of the Yoshi's Story model?
I'm a bit bothered by the head and torso being very distinct. Looks more like a snowman than a bird.

and while I'm nitpicking, I might as well complain about the jpeg quality, or lack thereof.

That's not going to happen, due to the game's reliance on the Super FX 2 chip.
That's not to say it would be impossible, it just wouldn't be a simple port over, and they'd actually have to put effort into it. Effort that modern-day Nintendo just wouldn't dedicate to releasing old games.
