So, I reached lvl 160 a few months back. I have everything but a lvl 130 ele wand, (though I have the mesos to buy one,) and I am just wondering...
...how do you must up the motivation to grind 160-200 without slowly going INSANE. Standing in the same Newts spot and pressing Genesis is getting a bit repetitive. I am on a training hiatus currently.

Train with friends? Chat a lot while training? Buy lots of 2x EXP? Race a friend/enemy to 170? Eh...That is what I would do.

Train at skeles with friends? That's exactly why I barely trained at Newties. It's just way too boring. Skeles are more party friendly and aren't as dull.

Screw exp rates. Levels after 160 don't really do much. Go all over the place with Angel Ray and have some fun.

If you make training into something like a daily routine, then it's not too bad I think. I find it hard to find motivation after I lose my training momentum, such as studying for finals...

Im taking a training break as well
16x AM
Getting my ele wand helped a lot for motivation as the ice one was a huge bump to my damage
if you wanna keep going -- get into a routine and stick to it -- slowly chip away at it --

Training over the last two summers has been when I've gotten the most leveling done, but my remedy then isn't working now: listening to music. While I usually have my 4+ hour playlist set for a typical 2x session, it's not enough to keep me focused on training anymore, and if I'm training late at night, I'll probably be asleep in an hour.
The way I fight boredom now is talking with friends, either on Skype/Vent or just in Guild/BL/Alliance, etc. Whenever I start training, I always try to strike up a conversation with people in order to keep me focused. I find this to work very well, as Magicians, who typically have the most boring training, have the easiest time talking without losing exp/hr rates because of the animation delay on ultimates. It's much easier to get a few lines in during that animation than when training in the past, so use it to your advantage!
I'm sure you already know all of this, so just mix it up a bit. I'm positive you'll find something that works :].

Training can still be pretty fast til late 18x i've found. Its just having the motivation to level which is hard to find sometimes.
Usually if you 1hit newties that can get pretty boring pretty fast but if you go to skele and have someone to train with then thats seems better then waiting for newties to respawn all the time
Also as others have said just watching movies or what ever while training quite often makes time go faster or makes training seem less painful
