Help with cats (cat being very noisy when I sleep)

Well whenever I leave my cat alone, it starts howling and crying. I know the problem is is that it doesn't like being alone, but can anyone help me so he doesn't do this as frequently/doesn't do it all? Thanks for the help in advance.

He tends to sleep on my face when I'm sleeping, which is why he sleeps outside my room now since he didn't stop that habit

How does he behave in a carrier/cage? One alternative might be to put him in it and put it in your bedroom so he can be 'with' you and also not sleep on your face.

Maybe give the cat a bed of it's own to sleep in? If it sleeps on your face, you need to get it off and re-direct it into an area it can sleep, like at your feet or beside you.
