This does have decent proportion! Faces are pretty complex, and straight-on views like this are particularly difficult. You can get away with a lot with a more stylized look as well.

Your choice of colours is always fun to look at. I'm surprised you've only recently discovered watercolours. (◕ ▽ ◕Wink
