Best place to mine certain ores?

I've read around that Crossroads in Magatia is a good mining spot, but it seems that I can't find many veins that give silver/adamantium/steel/gold there, as it is mostly coloured veins.
If anyone knows a good spot that gives the ores listed, then that would be very helpful. I have my suspicions that the mining zones within the crafting town probably give them, but I need confirmation as I can't enter with all the map crashing going on.

My mistake, that's what I meant, Phantom Forest : Crossroads right? Is it just a perseverance thing with them being rare veins?

Is it also good for herbs? If not, where's a good place to collect herbs?

It spawns every kind of herb/ore randomly. So it's about equally good for both, not so great if you want specific types.

They can't be mined successfully, now anyway. They give no ores, so there's nothing to succeed at, it always fails.

You can never successfully mine it. After the Legend patch however, it actually gives refined plates and jewels instead of just ore fragments.
