A funny little mishap. Gimme my 162mb back nexon!

So at some point I downloaded the 0.55-0.56 .patch file. Clever guy that I am, I thought since I couldn't run a .patch file, I'd change the extension to .exe and run it, and maybe that would patch my game! Yeah I really didn't think it through, but figured what's the worst that can happen?

Anyway, later on I decided to try to delete the file. Couldn't, because it said it was 'in use'. Turned off MS and tried, same effect. Restarted, same effect. Ran in safemode, same effect. I can't delete, rename, or move it because it's always 'in use' when as far as I know, nothing's using it.

So, any ideas on how I can get rid of it? It's just kind of there on my desktop, being more undeleteable than any virus I've encountered. :f6:

So you can't change it back to .patch? Try using Windows Task Manager and checking if it's actually running.

Do you have Acronis TrueImage? That's a really nice software that can restore your computer to a certain time/date.

Get Unlocker [1], it'll show you what's using the file and can also unlock it/directly delete it

Acim: I can't rename it again. I couldn't find any process that might be using it.

Kas: I don't have that program, but I don't want to do anything that drastic anyway.

Serp: Thanks, I'll try that when I get home. I accidentally forgot about this topic.

edit: Serp, it worked for me. Thanks a lot!
