Storage items disappearing?
#1
I put an item in my storage and logged off to go on another character, and at the login screen my Maple crashed. So instead of going back on I went to bed. I woke up and logged on to see the item wasn't in my bank or in any of my characters. Has anyone else had this problem and should I submit a ticket to nexon?

Someone in guild said they lost 900m sometime earlier this week after they put it in storage. Mini-rollbacks occurring or something? Sounds odd. I wouldn't jump the gun or spread FUD, though.

Too late, I lost my level 17 evolving ring on Friday, and another guild member lost his ring and some earrings before that. Frown

Yup, mini rollbacks, or the storage database becoming out of sync with the game. I learned the hardway, loosing max mesos and a level 17 ring back a week after the BB event. You live and you learn. Only thing you can do.

Oh, wow.

Now I'm not moving my items from my mech any time soon.

However, it's weird since there's practically no threads on lolbasil about this.

Edit: actually, it's probably because you guys logged in through the website, so you stay logged when changing characters. Therefore, if you crash after putting your PIC, something bad might happen, since you're still in the same session.

If you use gamelauncher, you'll log off everytime you change chars, so it's safer as in it will end your session and if you crash at the PIC, nothing will happen, since you're in a new session.

When the whole game crashes, I doubt that the fact you're logged on the website or not makes any difference. As soon you crash, you're disconnected from the game and therefore the database, messing up with any unsaved data you had there.

Maybe waiting 1~2min before changing characters after putting very important items on the storage could prevent the problem?

I've always assumed the opposite. That you should log off after taking something valuable out of storage or buying from a shop, because logging off forces a database save. However, maybe the problem is different this time, since it seems to involve losing things put into storage, not taken out.

The explanation I've seen in the past for items lost when removed from storage is that the storage database is updated when you close it, but the character database is only updated every x minutes, or when you log off, so if a mini-rollback occurs to just after you removed the item from storage, there will be no record of the item in either database, and it will be lost.

I just never use storage. I usually get my brother or my real life friend who plays to trade transfer them. The time the game unexpectedly shut down for the meso exploit gave me a heart attack because I had my scgs, pac, and lvl 17 ring being xfered to my mech. And Nexon is too lazy to investigate the issue and refund the items.

I've never had this problem in El Nido, and I've had a few items in there for weeks.
