Innovations of the post-BB larger screen size
#21
I'd like a PQ like this:

 Spoiler

^^ Something around that nature with a fixed point of view on each puzzle map. Each person/group would take turns to solve each puzzle to progress from room to room. It could probably be done with the current resolution, but you can fit so much more into each room.

Cool, so I STILL cant get any of those skills, so why should I go for 4th job? It's impossible to zrun in Yellonde where only runs are about 3am midnight for me.

I guess I gotta solo zakum or quit Aran for good, lol! >_>

Maple needs source engine or crytek 3 engine
After 8 years of the game they should be able to make the screen bigger then just 1024 by 768. But at least now you can see more of the bigger monsters

F3. That would make a lot of things impossible. If it's a set thing like Cube pq, then people will get used to it and learn it and it won't even be fun after a while.

But too many people on Maple are retarded. Way too many.

Would be way fun though.

No it wouldn't. The reason I play Maple Story is because it has a cartoony feel to it. I play a FPS like Crysis/CoD for graphics and realism (I know FPS are obviously not close to reality, but they have very realistic elements). I play MS for the mere fact that it is so far from reality it isn't even funny. I take the role of a 2 dimensional being who looks like a chibi character and then I go cast spells and kill hoards of monsters all day just to better myself. If MS took any of that away I'd quit.

How would a 2-D game with Crysis graphics even work?

Unless you mean by changing the entire game into 3-D.

Sir,
The Crytek 3 Engine and current Source Engine are both 3D Gaming Engines.
As maplestory is a 2D game, implementing/replacing the current engine with one of these engines would be goddamn near impossible. (Or just flat out impossible)

Plus there is the issue with licensing and whatnot. Do not get me wrong, I have seen the Unreal Engine play a 2D game, but this 2D game was more of a pinball-esque game and was really 3D with a fixed camera.

I don't mind the jump in resolution. What I do mind is the terrible AI of the monsters. Every monster should be like Tengu in the Himes map. I would proudly drink some hard liquor and get in a mob fight with 8 Tengus. And if possible, make them chase me from channel to channel and even from portal to portal. Bring them all the way to Henesys channel 1 and log off.

If I recall one the the GM's stated that MS runs on a 3D Graphics engine. What I think they should do if they ever make a sequel or a reboot is, make the skills and maps 3D but keep 2d sprites, all side scrolling.

I'm just wondering if the new resolution will fix running Maple Story inside VMWare w/ XP (No more white screen)
