I believe it's a big transparent screen in the center of the stage. The lighting effects and everything were adjusted properly to make it look as realistic as possible.

I think it's really innovative. A vocaloid in itself is something that allows people to share their musical and lyrical creativity. Some people write good lyrics and have a good tune, but have no singer. It really helps people "be heard".
