Which virus protections should I keep?
#1
For my desktop I have Nod32, which came with the computer, Super Anti-Spyware which I downloaded some time ago, and recently downloadeded Avast! Free edition.

Nod32 has stopped updating because it requires a password, and everytime I start up the computer it keeps asking me if I want to update, where pressing Yes/No just brings up the blipping window again which I can only close with CTRL-ALT-DEL.

Super Anti Spyware is nice, and I know Avast helped me on my laptop.

Now the questions are: Is NOD32 worth keeping on the off chance it's a "load-bearing program", or should I just un-install it?

Since I have Avast, should I keep Super Anti-Spyware?

I've personally never heard of Super Anti-Spyware, why not try Ad-Aware or Spybot? Super thing sounds kind of bogus, sorry. Stunned Either way, you probably should keep a secondary program alongside a main antivirus program just because waiting for a virus scan to finish can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

i use super antispyware and it works fine. if you forgot the password or whatever to nod32, just keep avast or switch to microsoft security essentials. i think it's the best free antivirus out there at the moment. since antivirus is geared more towards viruses, it's good to keep an antispyware program alongside it also.

Uninstall all virus scanners
Get Ad-Aware and Spybot: Search and Destroy
Don't click on everything the internet tells you to click on
Run programs once or twice a month

you don't even have to click on anything to get a virus nowadays.
