I think the fastest theoretically possible time right now would be with 30 level 200 perfectly equipped Corsairs buffed with SE and SI just before they come in. Parties organize and place Octos and Gaviotas while someone drops the eye. Arms are taken down with Cannon + Air Strike whenever possible. Everyone Bullseye's the body as soon as it spawns and spams Cannon. It'd probably take less than a minute.

And that's why people stick with NLs... they're not just theoretically good, there are dozens of them at a decent level and great gear. Other than IHaveSixDex, there aren't exactly a lot of high-level Heroes on Bera.

Right, but I'm sure if another speedrun is attempted in a few months when there's more 16x+ Corsairs, there will probably be a little more variety.

^ Doubt it. Too much ego and drama in Scania to try and properly do this run.
I did a speed run pre-4th job and had one guild refuse to turn up cause we weren't taking buyers. Another guild refused to respond to anything whatsoever.
And the situation is worse now.

Lol? Do you really think you have to be HP washed at that level to survive Zakum? Also, SI does not work on NLs. People that level don't need HB to survive Zakum. Finally, stop assuming that NLs are the strongest bossers. Some of the heroes and DrKs in this run probably did more damage than a lot of the NLs. Please don't post this kind of stuff if you don't know what you are talking about.

Anyways, bravo. Any criticism you guys get doesn't matter; you still beat the record, and I don't see any of these critics making these kinds of runs themselves. n_n

Thanks for trying to sound smart, but I do know that characters at that level wouldn't need to be HP washed or need HB to survive Zakum, but both of those would make it easier and make potting easier for the runners. Also, to bring up your criticism, I know that NLs don't have the highest DPS in the game, but at this time they're the most accessible to have in a mass quantity, seeing as how they're aren't enough decently leveled/equipped corsairs. In which case you think that one of the three warriors did more damage, then why not go create a Hero/DrK and then create a NL and test their DPS. And i'd love to know your results, but if you have anything else to say, feel free to say it.

The best DPS isn't one class alone. Know that Heros/DKs can hit multiple arms, something that NLs can't do. You need to figure out the precise balance point (from DPS calculations) to determine the optimum speed.

What help were the warriors when they're sitting around? Multiple hitting attacks are only good for the arms, which didn't last very long, did they? And after that it's just one single monster you're attacking. I'm not saying that a warrior isn't strong, or has a lesser DPS than a NL. It's just NLs, at a high level with at least decent equipment is highly accessible at this time. I mean, like someone said, go through the rankings and take a look at characters, an ass of them are thieves, are NLs... Don't get me wrong though, if 20-30 DrKs, Heroes, BMs, or Corsairs were all assembled and tried, i'm sure at least one of them would have a better time. But as in this point in time, April 06, 2009, a full party of NLs would probably be the easiest way of obtaining a better time.

I ran DPS estimates and even if you have the optimal Hero formation (top 4 arms all die at the same time due to combined efforts of Heroes on bottom 3 + NLs on top 1) after which everybody helps on the bottom 4) it saves about 1% of the speed of the run over the 30 NL setup. Corsairs do that up by about 15% improvement.

He's saying if they had been hacking, they wouldn't have posted a video of it. There are a ton of well-known, legit Berans on that run, it would've caused uproar if they had been using hacks.
