Anybody able to help me make pidgin work? :(

Okay, I think I have tried everything to get this stupid program to work.

I have never had any problems with pidgin, until today when I clicked it and it wouldn't come out of the tray. I exited off it (It did the non-responsive carry on) and started it up again, and it just reappeared in the tray, but wouldn't come out. If I held cursor over it, I could see my away message. I then tried to restart my computer. Same thing happened. I then reinstalled it, same thing happened, could even still see the away message. So I did a search of my computer to find pidgin related files, and discovered it still had a folder in program files. So I uninstalled again, and manually deleted that folder. I then reinstalled. The away message was still there, and it was still stuck in tray. One of my friends told me I appeared as offline. I then decided to try uninstalling it and installing the newest version of pidgin. Still, same thing happened.

I think there is a settings folder that for some reason doesn't have the word "pidgin" in it, and I'd have no idea where it is!!

Anybody know where I can locate that folder, or how I can get pidgin to work properly again? I really don't know why it is doing this, there is just no logical explanation for it.

Might be time to get a new MSN/ AIM client, though I'm so used to using pidgin now

go to C drive and all hard drives separately then search Pidgin =\

EDIT: I GOT IT WORKING!!
Found that stupid settings folder, by going through stuff manually rather than searching. Found this folder called .purple that looks suspciously like it was pidgin when I checked the contents of it. I would have absolutly no idea why the folder would be called ".purple". Surely there are more useful things to call it. If anybody can figure out the relation between "pidgin" and ".purple", grats to them!!
*massive eye rolling*, a simple "Do you want to delete settings option on uninstall" would have saved me that hassle. Shame on whoever wrote pidgin, that folder shouldn't be "secret" and so hard to get rid of if you don't know where it is/ what it is called.

Anyway I'll stop now before this becomes more fit for pits of hell than technical help
