TBH I'd be okay with this if the Frenzy Totem didn't exist, but as it is it's extremely shitty. Hopefully they'll see the massive outpouring of negative feedback that they surely knew was coming and go back on it? If not, yuck.

Yeah. I mean, we have been expecting/dreading the JMS Kishin nerf for a while now. The nerf we got is not nearly as bad.

However, the whole "it's too overpowered, but you can have it if you pay a lot" stinks to high heaven.

And if they're allowed to get away with it, well, there are a lot of other useful mechanisms in the game that can suddenly be declared "overpowered"/"glitched"/"abused" and turned into NX-only features. A Worse Maple, indeed.

We must not allow them to get away with it. I don't care what the pineapple it takes, float the news to all the nichegamer #gamergate ally games blogs. This needs to be fluffed into a massive catastrophe, because anything less will not result in a failure of a campaign.

What mechanism in the game was nerfed to make Hyper Tele Rocks sell?
None. Free travel has only been getting easier and easier.

We've had pay2win as far back as 2x exp coupons, and Gachapon giving powerful equipment and scrolls that couldn't be obtained any other way. That's not the issue here.
What we have here is the first time they take away a free feature to make room for a pay2win alternative. (Although some people are saying that manual loot suspiciously acquired a delay at the same time that pet loot was introduced. Maybe. I wasn't playing back then so I don't know how that went down.)

hyper teles were available permanently via cash shop, the option was taken away in order to put them in the much more profitable wheel. you're right, it's not the same, but every new year they one up themselves.

The adding to Marvel was done years later, and I doubt any of the people who were at Nexon when the perma rocks were removed, were still working there when the rocks were added to Marvel. So one can't say the removal was done "in order" to make it a gamble item.

The perma version was taken away in order to sell the temporary version. Same as they did with the permanent clothing.
Which, I agree, was also a low thing to do.
But not quite as low, in my opinion, because it's removing a Cash item for another Cash item.

which brings me to my last statement, they 1-up themselves each year.

They won't. Not outright, anyway. They pride themselves too much on being a "worldwide leader in free-to-play games".

However, the pets in Reboot are pretty much a subscription fee (since you can't really do anything without one, and Nexon staunchly refuse to put either pets or Water of Life in the Reboot Rewards Shop).

And they could always make other essential items, like say Mastery Books, or even any equipment over level 10, require Cash.

back in those times dbs were a broken ass class, so to be a competitive bosser it was basically mandatory to spend money on them lol, and potential was out by then, so even more so

Well there's S rank nebs....and instead of "decent skill-name-here" nebs, they can change it to "better than actual skill-name-here" nebs and make it cost like 4 fusion ticket+2 A/S nebs to fuse for a low/high chance of getting a S rank neb Smile
Or make it so that when you manually loot mesos, you pick up less mesos than when your pet picks it up

The best one would be them disabling all our chats and making it pay2talk with an option of unlimited chat for a higher price Smile Smile

I wonder if Nexon would hire me if this was on my resume....

Glitchy? Nah, it's working as intended--the old stuff where it actually shows you the chat without you needing to spam your bl was a legacy bug Wink

It kind of reminds me of Sweetwater drop rates, which then turned out to be introductory and nerfed to abyss.
