You guys seem to forget that CRA gear was locked behind a paywall for a long long time. Having them add Ryudes to marvel is nothing I'm surprised about.

I don't think anyone is really surprised, just disappointed.

Continuing this trend of having top-tier items available by throwing money at the game is not good for its long-term health. The current Nexon staff either doesn't realize that or just doesn't care (I'm leaning towards the latter).

That's not true. Despite the fact that Chaos Root Abyss was released at the same time it was in KMS, January 2013, the bosses were unkillable for quite a while, as far as I know, until after RED, except for a few queen kills right before RED. And as I remember, they didn't even start dropping equips until later still. Meanwhile, they were rewards for stuff like philosopher books which are still part of the paywall. They were pretty much effectively locked behind a paywall.

Hell, the same thing happened with Empress weapons before this, except, in hindsight, it was pretty ambiguous whether or not Empress could've been killed, whether they eventually limited her heals, or if she could always have been killed by making her heal 35~40 times, as I recall. My first Empress axe came not from Empress, but someone who got it from Crystal Scales or Music Boxes, or whatever it was at the time. I distinctly remember because we tried killing Empress and got her to 20 heals afterwards in an attempt to be the first group to kill Empress.

i certainly remember empress, i had the empress polearm for over a YEAR before empress was killed for the first time.

Hats off to anyone still putting time and effort into helping Maple.... but, literally what are you all gonna do when the game is actually kaput? It's gonna happen soon.

I'm sure Nexon is excited to see a boost in user activity over the last month, but it's obvious where that "boost" is coming from. That "boost" will ultimately drive the game into the ground, probably for the final time.

The MLC has agreed to increase our default SLA to 7 days. By doing so, this will give us ample time to respond to your ticket, bring the topic up during a meeting, and respond back to the user.

I doubt it honestly, I'd give it until 2020ish based on what we see now, the new CEO could definitely make a drastic change. I know there's a moba response being discussed and will probably be coming out around there, or it's a card game, I can't remmeber but I know they are investing into it more than MS2

SP also "suffers" from an aging user population. I'd postulate that many users have simply aged out of MS and similarly SP. The difference between the SP and MS populations is that MS makes an effort to recruit new players to replace the old ones. I don't think Eos or the rest of SP has any particular interest in attracting new users. One of the main attractants for maplers was the extractions which are no longer promptly done so there's less incentive for site traffic, especially from newer players. We mostly subsist for nostalgia reasons and a general sense of community for the old farts.

The reason SP continues to exist and will likely outlast maple is simply that Eos doesn't particularly care that he's running the site at a loss. It will last for as long as he chooses to support our charity case. We've also diversified a bit into other games, although this has not attracted any new members, allowing SP to remain somewhat relevant beyond MapleStory's inevitable demise.

I could see SP having a strong revival if MS2 takes off and extractions are re-emphasized.

Is Southperry running at a loss? Pretty sure Eosian once said that Southperry either breaks even or makes a little profit and stated (Correct me if I am wrong [MENTION=2054]Eos[/MENTION] he wouldn't even run the site if it was taking money from his pocket.

SP has been running at nearly-a-loss for ages. That was why we stopped doing ads - They'd become pointless.
I wouldn't have taken Southperry on initially had it been in this state, but it's hay-day is as far behind it as Maple's.

Due to a large number of tickets submitted it may take another few days before we get back to all 50+ of you. We have taken care of many of them, but I just didn't want to leave people hanging in the mean time.
