"It's not botting, it's AFK training"
Mazz Wrote:Until Nexon permanently bans everyone ever caught botting it isn't enough as far as I'm concerned. I appreciate the push in attempting to limit the amount of players engaging in illegitimate activity but when the people who are banned temporarily react to their 'warnings' like this:

It quickly becomes clear that this 'solution' is not even remotely enough of a deterrent. pineapple that guy, and pineapple his attitude toward playing the game. He's going to get unbanned and continue botting and nothing will be resolved.

...You mean kind of like for the last 10 years. This is the sh`it I'm talking about. You're COMPLAINING about something that has been a problem for the game SINCE FOREVER.

No, you're wrong, unsurprisingly, the scope of the problem now is significantly more impactful than it has been in the past. Botting has always been an issue, that much is true, but looking at how few people actually play the damn game these days compared to how many people are actively botting is heartbreaking. A huge percentage of people in the top 50 (perhaps even top 100) of the global rankings are either currently botting, or have botted at some point in the past. That has never been true (aside from when Bellocan and Khaini were first released iirc, and perhaps Yellonde) in all the time the game has been running until now, and that is the case directly as a result of ongoing negligence. Granted, if Nexon dealt with that kind of thing in the past it likely wouldn't be as much of an issue now, but reporting/drawing attention to (/complaining about) these issues now is more important than grovelling about Nexon's shitty history in dealing with these kind of problems.

I'm complaining about it more now because it is much more of a problem now, for the current, and future (if it even has one) state/s of the game.

Let me tell you two things

1) You are responding with a GIF, that is against the rules.

2) If you don't like that I have to continue to repeat the obvious, than don't repeat the obvious problems e_e

Are you kidding with this sh`it? Yeah, the problem is so much worse with 75% of the population gone because they got bored. The worst hacking that we ever had was between 2007 and 2009. Do you know why? Because the freking headquarters of nexon was being moved from the east to the west coast. There was no GM supervision, at all. I can't tell you how many times gobis, wolf spiders, almost every map in NLC was nuked to the hell with botters, how about florina beach? FFS coolies had botters, that are still in rankings today. You're delusional.

Alright Mazz let's talk man to man, what do you suggest?

-Talk to the community manager to directly give the problems. Tried that for a year, what did it change?
-Petition? Which of the hundreds do you want me to point out to you? Including one that was a failure to mrbasil himself?
-Translated letter to Korea to explain the problems? What the f`uck do you think I did almost 5 months ago only to get a "We'll looking into it", followed by nexon employees getting cussed out BY KOREAN NEXON FOR BANNING PEOPLE.

DO you know why there are temporary bans? The frekin scrutiny that every permaban goes through by the actual company is so unbearable and based on activity/nx chargers that it isn't worth perma banning these individuals.

All that's left is a consumer frekin revolt, which they clearly don't care about since the drastic population drop, where the justification to the share holders is, "Oh, well, cell phone games are much more popular, maplestory is just not part of that right now! It's not accessible everywhere.". Seriously, you're going to try to slander me with your limited scope, your very response is something I said frekin 4 years ago, where Eos told me what I'm frekin telling you now, guess who was right?

But I have to question if you even have the conviction I had when I stated the same opinion, since you were asking me to find you methods for you to bulk sale your gear and claims of soon removing the game from your PC.

They don't need to permanent ban unless they continue with their actions. They should however be removed from rankings permanently.

Artasi Wrote:Just as a note for everyone, bans are delivered according to the following image, in a way such that you are first given a warning, and if you continue to break the Terms of Use the issue is escalate up to the next tier of action in the chart. This continues until the account in question is permanently closed and not eligible for any arbitration.

Of course, for more extreme cases such as dupes and exploits we reserve the right to immediately suspend accounts without explicit duration. I hope this will help to clear some things up. Smile

I guess it is to late for them to take any action against the ds who botted to 250.

I dont understand why people care so much about the rankings.

Amusing considering Nexon's adamant stance that videos / screenshots prove nothing.

Yeah, that's what the Scania circle jerk did to frame one of the top legitimate players a few months back.

Although, from what I was told, players can show all the "evidence" they want, but if the GM doesn't witness such actions first hand, no further action will be taken.

That's why the 223 botting Scania DrK that I took a video of has yet to be banned.

I hope people start reporting others for buying/selling nx. This game isn't dying nearly fast enough.

Many will probably jump on me for saying this, but what proves this is not a campaign from the very same people that would get rightfully affected, to frame the system as a useless tool that will work instead against the very purpose it was created for?

it is, but the point is valid. you can use the system for good and/or bad. taking it at face value though since if nexon has to check it themselves it doesn't matter, but then that brings the issue that one can swamp the system instead.

Just made a southperry account after reading this, wanted to say hi xD

Few days ago, I was suspended on basil for making an accusation against someone for botting without providing proof. The next day I made a video providing proof, I sent a ticket which unsuspended my account. Yesterday a lot of the bans rolled in for botters, and I found that the girl I accused was one of the ones banned. Now today I found out that I was permanently banned on all of my basil accounts (Not ip banned, at least not yet). I am not sure really to why my accounts were banned, but so be it.

Reason I am saying this is because I was going to just give up on posting on basil, but after reading a few posts on here, including yours, it made me make a new basil account and want to continue to post on basil.. Okay this is probably weird, bye~

In regards to that forum, I'll say that it was the reason I decided to join Southperry, and I'll leave this link here

Technically you're not supposed to name shame on Southperry, either. Hence why in my post I've not included an ign or name in regards to the DrK I was referencing.

Penalty volcano is rather common, but it really doesn't seem like it's effectively used.

I remember I was training with a Basil mod once a year or so back and they started to hack. I kicked them from the party and lo and behold, my basil account was banned later that day. Haven't bothered going back since then.

I feel like I should be surprised, yet I'm not. Perfectly sums up how poorly the site is run.
