An item that once used, it reduces all damage done to 1/4 or 1/2, I forgot the exact number. But yeah, people usually uses it on monsters or bosses to either:

a) Reduce damage done to their characters
b) To do less damage, so that they can gain more hits (combo-ing)

Usually, in some of the more recent Tales games, there's a thing that checks to see how many hits you did (straight ; in-a-row) in a single match. Most I've seen was 999,999, I think? I forgot, but I think it was Shinryu on Youtube that got max'ed hits on ToS or something.

Also, Tales-related, I recently got:

Tales of the World 2: Narikiri Dungeon (GBA), and it's patched, so the entire thing is in English, and it's completely understandable.

All those gameplay videos are nothing more than battle scenes, there are actual towns and etc. Think of the battle system in this game as pokemon. You touch a monster, the scenario changes and you engage in battle. This RPG requires some thinking as most dungeons have some puzzles.

Ohhhh okay, well I'm glad they change it up with a storyline type of thing, kinda like dragon quest?

One sided means one person is always promised to win, as seen in Khoi's video.

Not necessarily. There are battles like that, but that usually involves the 'boss' winning, and not the main character of the story. That battle looked easy because the player got all of the characters to maxed level, and he was relatively-skilled at playing that character.

All divide reduces damage by 1/2 in Symphonia. Not sure on other versions.

I prefer my classic-style RPGs. Lost Odyssey, for example.

Burnout Paradise kicks all of their asses though.
