I think the last thing it happened was when I made a thread about Takebacker getting his 10,000th+ post or something. Or was that 9,000th+? I forget, it was years ago.

But yeah, post count here is more of a number than an ego contest. If you post a lot, you post a lot. Too many other places it gives a sense of authority. "Oh snap that guy has over 20,000 posts. I better listen to whatever he says!"

If you attach any sort of internet point system to a forum of any kind or type, there will more than likely be those people who care too much about it than what should be considered normal.

MapleTip's forums actually had a fame system that appeared with posts which worked similarly to pineapples/pomegranates (you could either +/- someone for a post or +/- someone because you like/dislike them).
