Vista Problem: Can't Set Backgrounds and Customized Themes
#1
Operating System: Windows Vista

Background: My OS got eaten by viruses/spyware and I went to the Computer Help guys who supposedly fixed it. Only they left a new problem that I have to fix...

Problem 1: Can't See Large Icons. I can see medium icons and in tile format. But my icons pull a vanishing act when I try to look at them in large form or bigger.

Problem 2: I can't choose a background from the internet or my pictures. I can only use simple color schemes and I can't set up customized themes. In fact, I've lost a lot of options as far as hues and color saturation themes go on Vista.

I also ran a HijackThis in case it could help.

I can't see your screen shots while at work. But if you think the viruses corrupted something then you can try this:

EDIT: OKAY, looks like you're running the Windows Classic Theme.

You need to change the theme back to Windows Vista Aero;

right click on your desktop > personalise > Click "Window Color and Appearance" > select windows Aero
