On Sunday, September 15, we addressed a hack impacting the meso economy. In the process, numerous accounts that received fraudulent mesos were banned immediately to minimize the risk of negatively impacting the current economy. Many of the banned accounts have since been switched to trade blocks to allow gameplay while we investigate the accounts further. Once our investigation is complete, we will remove the trade blocks and permanently ban any guilty accounts.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation while we work through this issue.

Basically there was a script that people were using to farm a bazillion Battle Pouches for unlimited Gallant Emblems and 10% Clean Slates.

Usually a line like this should serve as a temper temper (intentional) during an Unscheduled Server Check. But compared to what I saw this morning, this recognition of the problem without taking the game down seems to have emboldened or rushed hackers to make use of this as quickly as possible as long as possible.

This just leaves greater opportunity for items and mesos to be missed resulting in loads of additional innocent bans and more time and work trying to get these people unbanned.

Take the game down.

EDIT: Ninja'd, USC incoming.

"On Sunday we address a hack by banning people and didn't bother blocking the hack" is what this sounds like to me.

Who cares. Not much to do these days other than socialize (for me, anyway). Thats the main reason I log on. The econ has always had problems, but I'm personally not concerned with it anymore.

Pretty sure I overheard sayings that there was no chain-bannings; therefore hackers could use the clean slates on whatever weapons and trade them to another account to be safe (or drop any clean slates, but aren't they untradeable).

Nexon should know that simply banning the accounts that were executing the hack does no good, especially since this is a free game.

Get banned?
No worries, let's just make more accounts.
