Rock Band for Wii
#1
So I'm thinking about buying Rock Band for Wii. My question is, should I buy the first one or the second one? I will be buying the special edition, so I get the instruments. I read the reviews on IGN, and it seems the second one is much better than the first one. But will I miss out on any cool songs on the first one?

rock band 1 drums are REALLY loud
and you get about 30 more songs on number 2, excluding the 20 free downloadable ones.

And you can get all the songs except two, (Run to the Hills and one other) on the second game as DLC anyway.

And does DLC cost money?

Definitely get the second; RB1 is much less functional than RB2 on the Wii.

DLC is typically 2 dollars per song, although some are 1 dollar.

I'm not sure about RB1 songs though. Since the Wii's DLC isn't yet working, you probably can't import yet, but in any case, you'll be getting a better deal from RB2.

Once/If songs from RB1 are able to be imported to RB2, it would cost 5 dollars plus a rental of RB1.

I have a long post saved as a .txt explaining why I love GH much more than RB, but the general consensus seems to be that people love RB just as much (or more) than GH. I seem to be in a minority of people that actually doesn't like RB at all. But, such is the lovely world of gaming. I don't own RB at all and I don't ever plan to. I've played it and I just don't like it. Pineapple

I don't think this thread was never intended to be GH vs RB.

Plus, in blunt reality, the instruments themselves are made 100x better from the stock Rb2 set than Rb1.
