port forwarding through two routers
#1
For the life of me i have tried doing port forward through two routers, but have never succeeded in doing so. I can do it easily through one, but never two. I'm already very fimilliar on how to forward ports, i just need to know how to do it through two.

I need it to be done for both my xbox and my computer being in the same room, connected to a D-Link 524, which then connects to my modem/router D-Link DSL-G604T.

Thanks for ANY help on this.

Why would you use 2 ROUTERS? Just use cheap layer3 switches for that! Smile

Something like:

(ISP)---(Modem)---(Router)--->Into Uplink Port 1>(Switch 1)--->Cable From Port 2--->Into Uplink Port 1>(Switch 2)---Etc....

And connect any device (PC/Laptop/Xbox/PS3/etc) you need to the remaining free switch ports (2,3,4,5,6,7, etc).

Those layer3 switches are like 10~20 dollar each. And you only need to setup the forwarding ports you need into the only router in your house...

Just make sure you give each device a different IP Adress... Wink
