Trickster Online (NA)

La Tale has been in this stagnation period for quite a while already, except only in NA apparently. The other versions are still updating but La Tale NA is VERY behind. OGPlanet's localization team has always been crap for it though. La Tale is FULL of grammatical errors/Google translates. You can tell after a certain update that they lost their team, or at least the better members of their team because after a certain point the localization just took a massive dump on itself. Players have been hoping to get the game's ''latest'' (NA is so behind it's missing a major revamp as well as many other content updates. It apparently still needs two content updates BEFORE the revamp comes) revamp for over a year already I think with no word from OGP at all except, ''When it's coming we'll tell you''. I think it's been something more like two years but I don't keep track of that anymore.

Legit? Then again, I can't expect anything spectacular from OGP anyway. From their rude GMs to extremely lagging updates they aren't the best company to handle games.

In a way, I'm kind of relieved PangYa went to Ntreev/SGI after OGPlanet could no longer handle it.

LaTale is so beautiful, too..

Not sad in the least to see it go.

When I played it, it made me WANT to go back to Maple Story and Nexon Games.

I prefer the way the character models are designed in Maplestory as opposed to La Tale, personally.

I ended up heading over to the La Tale forums out of curiousity, just to see if they were as bad off as Trickster was. The end result? An endless downpour of topics complaining about the location change of its servers. They'll now be in the east coast as opposed to the west, apparently resulting in a severe impact to the quality of gameplay for those who reside in the west. The forums in general suggest a situation very similar to what I saw at the Trickster boards.

Oh, that, and the updates look to be nothing more than "Here's some new cash shop stuff, so pineapple you".

I'm really upset with how slow La Tale's updates are. Been 1.5 - 2 years or so since kLT got season 2 and here we are in NA, sitting and waiting for the two story quests before season 2 to finally come out before we can get s2. It'll probably be at least another year, haha. And when they finally do get it, it'll be full of Google translations.

Very sad that Trickster finally closed but as people said already it was only a matter of time. When GameGuard was added in late summer/early fall things really became bad; it was the first time I really noticed a huge decline in members.

I still actively play LT. After playing so long, there's been a lot of subtle changes most won't pick up on.

They've replaced the weak GMs of the past and got about 3 new GMs about 6-7 months that surprisingly communicate much better with players through forums.

They just made a massive move from the west coast to the east coast which pissed off a LOT of west coasters. They claim they're actively trying to improve conditions though for the west coast, as they're still working with the new hardware they just got.

Season 2 IS the next planned update and they've already made an teasing facebook post. A GM at one point has commented one of the reasons S2 may take longer is translation which they CLAIM will be better than what the old teams have done.

Other little things include verifiable cases of GAs feedback actually getting through and increasing super puzzle availability and revamping ladeck to have less useless crap. Basically, though the game is far from perfect, I'm witnessing a greater GM presence and i can kinda tell OGP is at least investing somewhat into preparing for Season 2. Given that they actually took the time/money to move the servers i don't think they're ready to drop it just yet.

Time will tell if they're actually gonna make this worth the wait though... and making an entire west coast playerbase angry.

Edit: aaaand they just less than a hour ago officially announced its coming this month.

They heard us talking about them. Goggleemoticon

At least they're updating, though.

Yeah, in my opinion LaTale was much worse when it came to service rather than with Trickster.

I think Trickster closing on me was like a wake up call for me to actually work hard on a game and hit a level cap at least once for my life. (I.E: MapleStory before the 250 Cap comes up from Korea)

I'm seriously motivated to start working on my MMOs again, but at the same time there's like this hollow hole in my heart from Trickster's disappearance.

That's nice to hear that they've finally started making legitimate improvements to their staff, but if the population can't pick up even after all these changes then it means nothing. We'll see what happens.

I'm pretty darn excited that they just announced season 2, almost like they've been reading everything people were posting. The server transfer to NY is only making it better for me since I live in NY and my ping is now 10-13 or so (down from 85-95). Can't wait~

My friend hardcore'd this game for a while, but I got bored of it pretty quickly. Felt like a somewhat-poorly done Ragnarok clone.
