Unable to Connect to Login Server
#1
At approximately 4:45am, Thursday, December 11th Pacific Standard Time, MapleStory closed and told me the following:

We are unable to connect to the login server due to a server check, a firewall block or other network issues. Please check the MapleStory homepage for ongoing server checks as well as your firewall settings.

There after I shut off my computer for the night, and went to bed. Upon waking up and starting MapleStory, I was again greeted with the same message.

I've reinstalled MapleStory and System Restored and both have proven ineffective. My 2nd and 3rd computers both can play ms, but not my main computer (and I can't even zak on my 2nd or 3rd comps cause they are too old).

My question is, does anyone have any experience with this issue?

My Specs if you need it are:
Intel Pentium Dual Core, 3.0 GHz
2 Gigabytes of Ram
100 GB Hard Drive
NVidia FX 5200 graphics card (I've tried using the onboard graphics card and had the same issue).
Windows XP SP2
I do not have windows firewall, any firewall, or any antivirus so that isnt the "cause" of the issue.

EDIT: I have tried changing the maplestory compatibility as well

Thank you in advance for any tips or thoughts.

Note: I have posted this on other websites, and have googled this error. It looks like everyone who's ever encountered it had to either quit ms or wait till the next patch.

Have you tried checking your firewall? McAfee and leading anti-viruses are tough on MS.

Edited main post to say i dont have that sort of program. I have no faith in them and why do i need to use them if all i do is play maplestory and use word processing.

How are you connected to the internet? Computers > Router > Modem > Interwebz?

What's your Router Make and Model Number?

I'm connected via a router yes, I have two methods of connecting to it, wireless and wired. My secondary and 3rd computers both connect to the same router and play maplestory fine.

I recall it being a D-Link, the problem is that our unit has the modem and router locked in a metal case to prevent tampering with the physical connection.

EDIT: I've tried connecting with my roommate's clearwire and have gotten the same problem

Start > Run > CMD > type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" ?

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer, then select on Application and look around the time when Maple closed see if you can find anything suspecious by double clicking to see what the error was. Also do the same to System.

You can also export the list to a text document by clicking on the icon with the arrow pointing right. It's beside the Help icon. Then post it here in spoilers?

Thank you so much for your help with this issue, however it turned out to be an issue with my ISP where they were blocking maplestory's ports because my internet access code had expired. Odd that i could still browse the internet but I'm not going to grumble. It works now Shine
