Crimson Wood

I want to make myself a Crimson Arclancer *the lvl 100 bow* and i'm hunting the typhon feathers at the moment *15% to get 35 of them... 40 more to goo...*

now... i know the random red trees spawn near the map of typhons, but is there a specific map where more just spawn in general? i need i think 300 of them... which is hell considering how long it took to find enough of those red devil dolls *forgot name* for that eh... quest... that was really hard to find and that was only 20? 25? *ok 50* ... they seem to drop as often as those which is pretty bad...

anyone know a good map to hunt for crimson woods?

The previous quest you're probably talking about was getting 50 phantom seeds from phantom trees. That was really bad >.<

I think the left side map opposite of Typhons after the JQ has 4 Crimson Trees. Just CC and kill them all.

There are 4 trees at Lower Ascent, which are all quite easy to reach if you have the marker.
There are also 5 trees at Path of Strength, the side opposite of Typhons, but they're much harder to reach. These 9 crimson trees are the only ones in the entire game.

It's gonna take some dedication to forge this bow. I spent a week doing this for who knows how long per day. I ended up getting the last 25 for free, too, so it'll probably take even longer than that.

Lol @ the Polearm requiring 200 more Crimson Wood than the Bow, I really hope they release a new map where they spawn faster in the next update. My DK has a ridiculous amount of dex and I'd like to put it to good use.

Plus I need to level up to 100... x_x

Dedication indeed. So far I only have about 15 pieces of Crimson Wood; it's a start, but it's still time-consuming. I've also been nabbing all the pieces of Crimson Wood being sold in the FM (as long as it isn't ridiculously high in price).

But I want that bow. >.o What are the trees' respawn time? I know it certainly isn't instantly.

I'd put a guess at around half an hour to an hour. I can only assume this because I grinded at Path of Strength for badges at one point xD

hmmm thanks guys... guess i won't be getting it before summer time >.> unless like stereo said, they release a new map with only trees... or LOTS of them OR even just change the droprate to even 10% would be good enough... sigh

It''s in the neighborhood of 15 minutes. Typically, by the time I got done with all 19 Lower Ascent channels, I'd have to wait 5-10 minutes for the trees to start spawning again. If you switch between the two maps (Though you have to be quite a bit stronger to farm the trees at Strength since they spawn with Elders and Nightshadows) then you can do it more or less nonstop. Also, as you pass through lower ascent channels, try asking the people there to hold on to any crimson wood if you find it. Since most of the people training there are archers, they can appreciate your task and I have found that most people are happy to share and help you on your goal. Many of them specifically requested I come back and show them the bow when I finished, and I kept track of their names and did just that.

Found it to be around 1 in 8, main problem is just the bad spawn rate. When I'm training @ Lower Ascent I kill the 4 trees every time they spawn, and only get 2-3 Wood per level.

I've noticed that Bandits/CBs/Shadowers have a noticeable advantage here - if they have a high enough level steal skill, and use a weak weapon, they have a good chance of getting the crimson wood from each tree (or at least getting mesos). If they get mesos, they can kill the tree for another chance (twice the farming rate).
