^Don't like the pixelated look either. Dunno why they didn't bother changing the "pixel density" of it.

That's like asking why people do pixel art when they have digital painting tools at their disposal. It's a style thing. Personally I think they could probably amp it up a bit for funsies (and to emphasize that it's deliberate), but overall I don't think it fits the game's look -- Maple is hardly designed around an 8-bit-esque aesthetic.

Allow me to get technical and point out that aside from vector images (those found in Illustrator), all other digital art is raster and does pixelate at some point. Just for future reference..since I can't tell if you just assumed everyone knew that, or if you didn't know that =S

I've only ever heard "pixel art" used to refer to spriting and styles like that, FWIW.
