Is there anyway to view your site hits?
#1
In other words, site statistics. Viewing page views in order to get an idea of how many hits you have left before your bandwidth gets raped.

Usually, hosters provide site stats for you but the free plan of my host does not have this function (not for free anyway) so I'm wondering if there's an alternative way (via Java or HTML or something).

Try using one of these:

http://extremetracking.com/

Both give a good amount of detail for stats. Just set up an account, copy and paste the little bit of javascript code they provide you with into your webpage, and leave it to track. My personal preference is statcounter.

Or if you have PHP: Write a script using fopen, fwrite and a variable to increment every time for each page you have.

It's in HTML/XHTML. I'm still looking at everyone's suggestion, though.

Well PHP can be embedded right with in HTML provided your server has support for it... (do you know?)

but that will only show how many times this page's been viewed. One visitor can refresh 1000 times and that would ruin it :S Also that's kinda simple.

But really butterfli I can host j00 if j00 wants. I's unmetered bandwidth :S *Plays T.I.'s You can have whatever you like in background*

XTOTHEL, i dont mind if someone refreshes 1000 times since im not trying to get more visitors. i just want a idea of how much bandwidth i have left before my site gets raped.

I was going to suggest Alexa, but after messing around a bit on the site, I noticed it doesn't show the exact amount of hits. There was one thing I found interesting on the site though. More people from India come to southperry.net then any other nation.

 Whaaaa?!

Sorry I couldn't help you with you question, but you may find this site fun.

(edit) This site might help, I don't know how accurate it is. http://www.trafficestimate.com/

The trend graph is interesting.

Peaks in mid-August (CWK) and November (Pirates), higher 'ordinary' amounts of traffic during summer than autumn. I guess it's to be expected, but yeah.
