Torrent Help

I just downloaded an extremely huge torrent file (took 11 hours to download), and now that it's finished the "Status" says Seeding. I have a torrent guide (im a torrent noob) that explains what seeding is.

"A seeder is someone who has a whole copy of a paricular file or set of files, and is willing to share them, i.e. is allowing you to connect with him/her. At least one seeder is necessary for any Bit Torrent download to operate. "

So right now, i'm guessing i'm the seeder. The thing is, the time frame says 2 days +. Do I have to let other people download from me?? or can I just cancel and start using my torrent?

Yupyup, if it says 2+ days to finish seeding that means thats how much longer you will have to upload until everyone else downloading finishes. You can cancel it anytime you want, unless the place you are downloading from says you HAVE to seed. If it didn't feel free to cancel your torrent and start using it xD

Well it didn't say anything about "having" to seed. My download is already done, but I didn't want to cancel the seeding just in case.

But now i've run into another problem, my download doesn't seem to be working. I downloaded the visual novel for Chaos;Head, and when I open it, it seems like it wants to start, and then just closes. I think I need DirectX for it to work properly, but when I download DirectX, I keep getting an initialization error once I try to install it.

YupYup! What he/she said. Just mke sure the place you got it from doesnt require seeding. Like I download from demonoid and they require me to keep my download/upload ratio decent or I could lose my membership (its very very hard to get a membership with them wthout being invited).

Well since it's Japanese, first of all make sure you have the Japanese language pack. Secondly if you think it is directx make sure you get it through windows otherwise you are going to have some problems. When you get it from windows they verify your Windows Key to make sure it is valid and will install it from there. I wouldn't trust other sites with directx.
