They've added expiration dates to items before when they tried to remove item locks, although that was a glitch...

[Update 7/1]: During the unscheduled maintenance, numerous items generated through this hack have been deleted, the hack has been blocked, and accounts identified as having used this hack have been permanently banned.


We have become aware of an issue where hackers summon Empress Cygnus bosses. While MapleStory GMs and developers are notified and looking into the issue, please be aware that any item which is illegally generated through this activity will be removed and involved accounts will be penalized without any notice.

I'd rather them be more descriptive. "Numerous" could mean anywhere from five to a million. They could have at least said "most" or something, especially if they suspect that they only missed a few.
