My laptop is old and pretty beat up (cracked screen,no battery)
and is having trouble running things it served me well but now I need a new one.

Reason I'm considering this one is because its on sale at the moment.

Reason I'm not considering getting it is because my girlfriend's dad is a computer technition and says that AMD has become horrible in the last few years.

What I need it to run is
Skype (always on)
Messenger (always on)
MMO (one at a time)
MapleStory
Dungeon Fighter
Aion
WoW ( going to try this out after all these years )
DC universe online
Blade and Soul

Here are the requirements for the games. (official ones atleast)

 Spoiler

Not sure if to buy.

Yea AMD Processors have fallen behind these years, though that's not to say they're not cost effective anymore.

Spec wise this would be pretty comparable(maybe even better) than the one listed http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Acer+-+Aspire+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i5+Processor+/+14%26%2334%3B+Display+/+4GB+Memory+-+Cobalt+Blue/3603093.p?id=1218419325596&skuId=3603093

Though Acer the brand I don't have experience with and by reading/hearing/word of mouth they're not up there in quality. But that's just to show if you're patient you can find similar/better laptops with intel cpus for around the same price.

Thats the laptop I bough recently, and I love it. Great battery life, good graphics card, quad core i7 processor and just a bit higher in price than the one you posted. Well worth it really.
