Major Maplestory problem?
#1
I'm having a couple major issues with Maple. I'm a brand new player as I just got a new laptop for Christmas. It runs Windows 7 64 bit, which I've read that many people have problems with. I have no problem starting the game at all, the problem is that randomly Maplestory will close randomly this is sometimes after an hour or so but mostly about 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay. Something I've noticed is that before closing sometimes the monsters will just stop moving completely and take no damage, if I'm even able to attack at all. I don't think its a lag issue because I can see other players moving around, attacking, and dealing damage. I've tried just about every suggestion I've seen in regards to problem with Windows 7 64 bit. Can someone please give me some advice or a fix to be rid of this problem? All I wanna do is play!

This sounds like what I have at university, which I know is a lag problem because of shared internet. I've never had any other players around when I was DCing so I'm not sure if this helps.

Sounds like a WIFI connection problem to me.

Did you try to use a cable connection instead with your laptop? Smile

If that fixes the problem, it's WIFI related.

I run MS on 64 bit windows 7 too, and I've never had any problems with it. I don't even have to run it in compatibility mode :-(

Seeing as you're new to MS, we can't rule out network issues (such as ISP doing weird things) either. What country are you in? If you have a friend with a laptop that runs another windows OS (XP would be great), then ask to try MS on their laptop at your house.

Other things to look at... it isn't getting killed by a firewall, anti virus software, or anything else running on the computer is it? Make sure that windows fire wall fully allows MS.

I really hope somebody else can be more helpful than me :-(

I ended up wiring it, but I had no luck, after 2 minutes it lagged again. The weird thing is though this time before the game closed a message came up that I had been disconnected for the HACK reason?

That's because you were sending too many packets to the server at once. It's definitely lag on your end.

If you're on a laptop
Does f2 disable your wifi?

How many pc's are connected to your modem / router?

If you have more then 1 PC at home (besides your laptop) try maple on that one, if it has the same problem, it -is- your modem / router that's the problem.

Also, check all the PC's if they have some kind of p2p program that's ruining your connection upload channel, just disable them for testing.
