Disappearing item?

My friend has a character that wields a weapon that requires DEX, but he is dexless. In order to wield it, he must equip accessories and other armor. Removing these pieces of equipment cause the item to stay in the equip slot, but appear red (unusable). We all know how that works.

So heres the situation. My friend removes the armor/accessories to transfer to another character. The weapon becomes disabled. He transfers the equipment and proceeds to play. Later, he transfer the equipment back, logs back onto his main, and then idles without removing the equipment storage. At this point, the accessories/armor are in storage, and the weapon is equipped but disabled on his main. Few hours later, he obtains the item from storage, equips them, and then realizes his weapon is gone. He has been logged in all night on that character idle. He did not remove the weapon from his character ever, it remained in the weapon slot of his character, disabled. He did not scroll it, nor did anyone physically touch the computer the account was active on.

It seems as if somewhere, there was a loss of transaction. My question is, has anything like this happened to others? Have you ever had an item remain in your equip slots, disabled, only to disappear later?

..Uh dude, that's pretty weak information considering your glitch is more likely affiliated with storage, while his is that the "unusable" slot on his equipment, which was never in storage.

As for OP, what did you happen to do? Relog? Inventory check? Re-equip items, maybe re-equip and log in? Not calling you stupid as you probably did those things but just as clarification, if not I would send a ticket explaining. Chances are you can easily get the item back.
