Xenoblade coming to NA afterall?
#1
So rumour has it that gamestop has exclusive sales rights to Xenoblade in NA. While there's no solid "ss or it didn't happen" proof. A lot of people seemed to have called up local GSs and they've all confirmed that the game is in their systems ready to be preordered. Release date is April of next year.

I have mixed feelings, it's kinda late, and that seems to be barely making the cut before WiiU comes out. I don't care what Reggie says, the WiiU is going to kill the Wii outright, and devs won't be wanting to make games for outdated consoles (with the exception of shovelware).

One of the few games that I honestly wouldn't mind another 100+ hour replay on. Looks like I'm buying a Wii.

For sure!
I wonder if the late release date means that you will miss out on the british voices and get US ones instead. The british dub feels fresh and different to say the least.

Hmmm. When I first heard about this game, I thought it would be the usual turn-based JRPG, which made me uninterested. After actually looking at it, it looks like it plays more like Phantasy Star.

I might buy it if I have the money when it comes out. If not, it's always something I can ask for for my birthday, since I never know what to ask anyone for (and god, they pester me for things I want).

I LOVE the British dub, but I doubt we will get it. I hope they'll at least give us the JP audio, though according to some the skill callouts during battle get grating for some of the characters in the JP voicing. I really liked the British battlecries LOL.

It plays like Final Fantasy XII AFAIK which is awesome.

I've been looking forward to this since long before all of the operation rainfall hubbub so I'm happy to finally see it coming here.

The only downside to it is the graphics could have used some more work. The tradeoff for it was ridiciulously huge area maps. I don't want to spoil anything but I think it was honestly completely worth it.

I think if you don't get the same dubbing as europe got with the british voice actors, you'll be really missing out. No doubt its chessy at times, and it did take a while not hearing the standard US accents everywhere for them to grow on me, but after an hour or two I wouldn't have traded them for any other voices.

Edit: Oh, you might also want to thinka bout getting a classic controller pro when you do as well (I dunno if they'll offer the same monado red ccpro bundle in america as they did here), the game can be played fairly well with the wiimote and nunchuck, with no motion controls involved, but it felt more like a game that needed a more standard controller in my opinion. No gamecube support though.

Edit again: Nevermind, the first NA trailer is out, Reyn Shulk and Dunabn do seem to have the same voice actors.

I kinda lol'd where they added more grunts and battle sound effects for no reason though. Go violent american audience.

Doesn't matter, Xenoblade is americas Wii GOTY next year now, can't blame them for not even wanting to try to compete when they know they can't. Also, the Wiiu isn't going to be out at least until september, xenoblade will have at least 4 months of prime time being in the spotlight for wii games.
