My internet disconnects at certain times.[enraged]

I am furious.

this has happened for a long time now.
the days it happens on varies.

it goes like this:

I connect to the internet when my computer is turned on - let us say that I got connected at 10:21AM.
then, at 11:21AM, I get disconnected for less than a second, then et re-connects automatically.
the disconnect is hard enough to cut all online services off(maple, msn, skype, chrome, all that jazz.)

when I disconnect myself from the connection, and reconnect, the time of disconnection is set to the new connection time, let's make it 11:50AM.

that will make me get disconnected at 12:50PM. same event as above, just a different time.

some days it happens, some days it does not. it doesn't happen to any of my other devices (iPhone, iPod touch, laptop). it doesn't happen to my parents either.

I really don't know what to do... I feel like I've tried every logical solution, yet it still happens occasionally.

any help and/or speculation is appreciated. ;_;

as for the placement of this thread, I chose to post it in Rubiks Cube and not Techical help, as it was under game-related issues, whereas this affects everything.

Huh. Eos needs to update the description on that, as everyone posts anything to do with technology there, not just issues with Maplestory. Lol. So this thread would belong there.

I remember there existed an option somewhere to cut off the internet connect after some time of idle use. I don't remember ever seeing it again though.

wireless internet.
tested with cable, still the same problem.

it seems that when I use the ASUS Overclocking software I have, it goes away.. wtp.

@Shidoshi: this happens when I'm active on Maple, MSN and Chrome, even downloading stuff.

me = ISP Technical Support amongst many other positions.

do you have a modem or router and what OS are you using.

if it's a model with a dialer then right click it and check for IDLE timeout settings or dissconnect after X settings

if you're running AVG it might cause this problem , also try checking for updates on your wireless network adapter/local area connection.

another thing that usualy is the culprit in these issues is the following
goto your device manager, look for network adapters, right click properties on each on them and disable "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" on all of them.

that should fix it, if you've tried these already reply here with what equipment your using, what anti virus/OS you have and any other info you might think is relevant.

router, windows 7 ultimate 32bit.
if it's a model with a dialer then right click it and check for IDLE timeout settings or dissconnect after X settings
no dailing function, nor timeouts.
if you're running AVG it might cause this problem , also try checking for updates on your wireless network adapter/local area connection.
no anti virus, only MSE(Security essentials). I have updated my drivers for both sending and recieving.
