Can't find updated drivers for my graphics card.
#1
Not even from nVidia's website. The smart scan doesn't seem to detect anything, the driver I'm trying to update isn't listed in the drop-down and I can't seem to find it anywhere else.

I have an nVidia GeForce 310M graphics card, why is it so hard to update? Trying to do so via Device Manager tells me it's already up to date but when I try to play Portal 2, I get a pop-up saying that my driver is out of date (and I get the option to play anyway but doing so was a bad idea as the graphics indeed did not cooperate anymore).

Quick search

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us is the default drivers page

I found your card in the 300M selection. And your 310m down a little bit on the drop down.

This is the page it found for you

That second link is only if her laptop (I assume you have a laptop since a GF310M stands for Mobile right?) uses Win7 or Win Vista 64 bit. How do you know what OS she uses? Smile

For MariaColette: Just use the first link that gives you the option to choose your driver according to the right Operating System you use! Smile

"NVIDIA installer cannot continue.

This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware."

Bleh. :<

@Devil: I already did, it's really not there. In the 300M series, lowest there is 320M, there is no 310.

Wow I derped hard, I just found it. It's the exact one Zelkova linked, and thus is the exact one I just downloaded, giving me the above error.

Hmmmm I don't understand now if the driver update worked or didn't work. :+)

Anyway, if you're still having problems with the Nvidia driver, you can install Driver Sweeper (freeware).
It's a tool to uninstall old drivers that won't uninstall themselves completely.

http://phyxion.net/Driver-Sweeper/Driver...ion-3-1-0/

Just check: Nvidia - Display
-> Analyze
-> Clean
-> Restart PC
-> Try to install latest correct Nvidia Driver

That didn't do it. I still get the same error.

Try getting the "latest" driver from your laptop maker's site.

I tried that, but it's still outdated to the game. It's running... better now, just a bit laggy. Close enough, I guess. Thanks.
