I'm working toward getting into animation at either Seneca or Sheridan. I'm drawing at least 15hrs a week at a workshop I'm in so I can make a portfolio that blows the reviewers away, hopefully....

Oh I see. I'm still a High School student atm. I'll probaby apply for a job at the local McD's next year.

1) It's 10.25$ for Ontario who are older than 18 or 19. Don't forget we're taxed up the wazoo.
2) If you're a student in high school, you're paid less. iirc, it's somewhere around 9.50$ but you aren't taxed as much. Pay attention to what you're being paid because you're young and companies might try to rip you off when you're working more than what you're supposed to be working. iirc if you work over 22hrs, you're legally entitled to be paid the real min wage of 10.25$/hr.
3) McD is actually slightly above min wage, yay. I've been told they also have a special point system where someone from McD will come in during your rush hours. The higher you score on their test, the more money you'd get.

I worked at Tim Hortons for 2.5years and a friend/co-worker's mother is a manager of a store at McD. I was trying to work at Timmy's full-time while doing part-time at McD, but things didn't work out. I need to fix up my resume asap to see if I can get a job doing "web search evaluation" because it's a boring but easy job that pays okay. 20hrs a week at around 16$/hr and I can do it at home with flexible hours — as long as I do 4hrs of work in a day, I'm good. ;o

I work in the quality assurance department for a pipe fitting supplier. I've been working there for 2 weeks now, its 9-6 getting paid 10/hr. The company orders thousands upon thousands of parts from manufacturing plants in China, South Korea, Japan, etc and it is our job to do a sample of 50-100 parts of each order and then depending on the results do a slightly larger sample(200 parts or so) or go through all the parts. The largest order I have worked on so far was 40k parts. It is extremely boring work and very hard on your hands, but its only til the start of the next school year max and there are talking of promoting me all ready so that helps.

Or you move to Pennsylvania and come hook up with me *hint wink* for your uncle's friends job.

I work in a Head Start program for 3-5 low income families: data entry, tech support and assistant's assistant...
sometimes I maintain their database and update their web pages or even in charge of publishing flyers, newsletter using acrobat, ps, ai, id..etc

SH`IT. When I worked for Domino's my wage was $5.25/hour. Of course it's legal because with tips and mileage I averaged more like $15.25/hour, lol. But legally even without tips/gas they weren't required to meet minimum wage? Or at least...they didn't...
