Not so much a problem as a question.
A little background: a couple of weeks ago I used another PC which also seemed to check out on all counts of the minimum spec required to play Maple and at first it was fine. It got slower and slower the more it ran Maple and began to blue screen quite often. After ruling out all other possibilities I was forced to conclude that despite meeting the system requirements, the memory just wasn't sufficient for Maple and some sections of it had been corrupted/become unusable as a direct or indirect result of having to deal with Maple's memory-leaking tendencies. The PC still works to an extent but has become excruciatingly slow for even the most basic of actions.
Fast forward to the present, I have been lent my brothers old work laptop for the coming academic year since he wasn't using it and the alternative would be to drop cash the family doesn't have on a new laptop. This laptop is pretty much perfect for all things work-related and entertainment-related (bar gaming). Problem is, while it's other specs seem to check out fairly well for Maple (1.75Gb usable memory, Windows 7 Professional, graphics cards and such are also fine), it only has a 1.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor in it, which isn't far over the minimum spec listed on the site. How will this affect the gameplay and more importantly how will it affect the laptop itself if it runs Maple on a (semi-)regular basis?
It may seem like an obvious and simple question with an even simpler answer but I just don't want to unintentionally trash this PC in a similar way to the previous one just because I felt like playing Maple every now and then on it.
