#1
It looks cool and seems to be a improvement over IX and has online

http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=160555

link has a video of the trailer.

It's for Wii with a Wii U version apparently being worked on as well.

Facts:

5 different races.

It is a(n) online RPG.

There will be a fee for online play in Japan.

Unknown:

The Subscription fee for Japan.

If it will be released in North America.

Story details.

If a supposed North American version will have a fee.

If you can complete it fully offline or not some news points to it being impossible some points to it being possible.

I swear, if NoA announces that they'll bring this over while still being mum about the OpRa titles...

I'm excited about this as a massive DQ fan but it won't be as good as VIII or IX without Level-5's involvement.

Edit: Nevermind. Game is going to be garbage. It has a SUBSCRIPTION FEE. As in, it's an online game. No thanks, Square-Enix.

Monster hunter tri doesn't have a subscription fee in NA but does in Japan what happens in Japan doesn't necessarily translate to what will happen with the localizations in NA. Also the game can be completely single player with npc party members like dragon quest IX apparently.

It won't be dropped; it's been officially announced as an MMO. It's not a single-player game with online interactivity. Yes you can play with AI party members but you still have to pay for a subscription and have to play online.

What a load of horseshit. I have been looking forward to this forever and THIS is what we get? Yeah right. Stop fucking turning solid series into MMOs, Square-Enix. Or at the very least, DON'T NUMBER THEM LIKE THEY'RE A PART OF THE MAIN SERIES. You want to make a Dragon Quest MMO? Assign a different team to it and call it DRAGON QUEST ONLINE.

Oh well, at least I've got the Dragon Quest 1/2/3 remake to look forward to still.

The game would be published by Nintendo of America in North America most likely, Nintendo usually doesn't charge for you to play online games..and with the lack of popularity like monster hunter who the hell would want to play it if it had a subscription here? I highly doubt there will be any fees for playing in North America.

Apparently the official website has it listed as a single player game oddly not a MMO. Could just be because it doesn't have local multiplayer lol

It will be a while before it is possibly released here and a while before it is released in Japan as well not enough details to complain about it in reality you might want to hold off on complaining for a year or two.

I don't think you're getting it though. The online stuff is not just an optional aside. It IS the game. Which means it won't be removed here. Game is officially bullshit.

Lots of conflicting translations and reports on this game now a bit annoying.

The online part of Monster Hunter Tri wasn't removed and was made free here because it wasn't very popular Dragon Quest isn't popular here as well so its a very logical assumption it would be free to play here or else it would bomb so badly it would be embarrassing to Square Enix and Nintendo. You really aren't understanding logic apparently/nothing is set in stone as of now.

There's a different wording in that link prove its written incorrectly if you can but it does imply you can play offline just not experience everything like in a few other games (again Monster Hunter Tri/Phantasy Star).

There is a possibility of it having a subscription here it is just so freaking low of a chance that getting mad over it is laughable. people getting mad at the moment with so few details is stupid..

The art style is nice and the new races all look pretty great though the elf priest (assuming it was the elf) looked silly with the hat on. The Wedi in particular look awesome to me. The combat looked familiar to some other game..
