So recently I've discovered a problem with my laptop where I can't connect to any of the secured networks, although I'm able to connect to an unsecured one easily. I've tried updating my drivers, running virus scans, rebooting the laptop, most things I can think of. Does anyone know anything that might help?
Edit: Scratch that, I just disabled the security and I still can't connect to my home router. So I guess security isn't the issue. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
To clarify; it sees the networks, is able to "connect" to them, but it gets stuck at identifying and ends up identifying the network forever without actually giving me a connection.

Have you tested with both the windows native wifi driver and the brand's personal wifi driver?
("Let windows manage this device" vs the software for the driver)

Did you try a few networks, and do you have a static IP set? If you get stuck at identifying it usually means you're trying to get an address from the connection point and it's not set up for DHCP, so you can't really do anything.

Uninstall whatever wireless manager came with your wireless card and let windows do it's thing.

Or try various other clients in the list.
If you get the same results from multiple software it's either a problem with your card, or with the networks you're trying to reach, but the more networks that experience the problem the more likely the problem is the card or something that's been configured on the card.

Just to doublecheck, when you try to connect to a secured network, you have the key, right?
You're not just randomly trying to connect to a secure access point, right?

I had an issue where my computer couldn't connect to routers with WEP codes, only WPA would work. Try changing your encryption on your code if that doesn't work.
