itunes wont install

after attempting to update itunes last night, it got to like the last 2% and crashed. now i dont have the older version of itunes because someof the components were removed and the newer version isnt installed. ive tried repairing to no avail, uninstalling and reinstalling has proved unsuccessful because it says it doesnt have the privelages to do something with a distnoted file and im pomegranate out of ideas and luck. does anyone have a fix? im not redowloading all 4500 songs thats not happening

Your songs aren't saved INSIDE iTunes. You import songs from your own folder into iTunes instead. Therefore I believe you should still have your songs somewhere (unless you delete them right away after importing them into iTunes, which I doubt you can do really). If you don't have an iPhone or something and you use iTunes for listening only, I would suggest getting Winamp instead. Winamp is so much better.

ive been using winamp since, idk if its just me but i feel like the sound quality was higher in itunes in comparison to it (sound quality is a big thing for me since i do some audio engineer work with a friend often haha). ive been thinking about using windows media player if i cant fix this
