So, today, I got a message from MacAfee saying that it detected a trojan on a shared folder. The trojan's name was "Artemis!F9652E7EC137" which gets no results on google. This isn't the first time I've heard the name Artemis!F9652E7EC137. I got a message earlier this week, when I downloaded a rainmeter suite, that said that MacAfee had detected a trojan, Artemis!F9652E7EC137. It said it would do something about it.
Now my computer is running really really slowly. Macafee's scan is only 46% done. Searching the Rainmeter folder (even with hidden folders showing) gets nothing. Searching my entire COMPUTER, which took forever, trust me, got exactly nothing either.
I need to get this trojan the heck of my computer, and fast. Macafee is moving incredibly slow. Does anyone know how to do this? Having my computer go into the shop 5 days before school starts isn't exactly on my most wanted list.

Try a bunch other stuff. From my experience, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, Spybot Search&Destroy, Windows Security Essentials seem fairly reliable in digging up stuff.
Try doing scans in safemode.
Wait for someone else.

Do those (MalwareBytes, Spybot S&D, WSE) require an install?
...scan in safemode? lolwut?
Oh, also, bonus round: I can't even get maple to start up. It shows up in window mode as a white screen, not responding. Also doesn't show up on my taskbar. It's been like that for 10 minutes or so now.
God, this is annoying.

No...
And maple just actually started up (after 10 minutes or so).
Really really laggy though. Well, no 2x for me, I guess.
The scan is now at 49%.
How slow can you go?
How slow can you go?
It goes slower than I ever really thought it could:
something's down, freeze up.
brb, making more lines for this fantastic song.

I have a bad reputation there.
Basically, I made an account by the name of Jesus Christ. I posted a lot of stuff there. I'm fairly certain they perma-banned me.
This is really sucking hard.

Why yes, they do. They need to be on your machine with privileges to look into it in order to find anything at all.
Windows 7 safemode booting. Essentially, booting into safemode prevents the trojan from functioning at all, so even if the trojan knows how to hide/protect itself from scans, it won't be doing any of its magic.

Do they cost anything to install?
If this stupid scan doesn't finish soon (50% now, what the pineapple), then I'll do safemode or one of those programs.
Oh, also, I can't believe I forgot.
It said that it couldn't clean the trojan up because it was in the shared folder. I have no idea how to give it access to that.

In other news, it's hot outside and school is boring.
I was talking about MalwareBytes and the others, not safemode.
