The Borders store at 5125 Jonestown Road, Lower Paxton Township, and the chain’s other nearly 400 book stores will begin a liquidation sale Friday, employees said.

Customers cannot return or exchange anything. Gift cards will be honored for six more weeks, an employee said.

The Lower Paxton Township store will be open regular hours during the liquidation. Employees did not know how deep the liquidation discounts will be.
The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based chain, which helped pioneer the big-box bookseller concept, is selling off its assets after it failed to receive any bids that would keep it in business.

Borders also has stores in Lebanon and York. It closed several stores earlier this year, including one near Camp Hill.
