I would rather pay to play then, than have a poor service. and that F2P excuse is already overused, look at LoL, its free to play and the service is way better than maple.

LoL is also easier to manage because it uses a more cookie cutter coding, maplestory's foundation is pomegranate, as stated numerous times by eos lol. Hopefully blade and soul will be here by december, I'm losing it waiting for the damn thing to come out.

If they recorded every transaction on the free market not knowing when, but expecting a rollback or a glitch where people lose their items, it's going to take an incredibly huge amount of storage space, isn't it? They're have to hire extra programmers for that too. It's also very difficult and confusing trawling through different versions of code displaying items in player shops at different points of time to make sure that people aren't trying to make a quick buck. Maybe there are ways that make it easier, I don't know. There probably are a huge number of tickets logged every day, too.
While the company and its programmers are at fault, and it's painful losing so much just because of an unexpected glitch, is there really any way that their current personnel could possibly compensate for these problems faster/more fairly? They should probably hire competent programmers and/or get a more stable server, but how else would they solve compensation issues which have already happened? :f6: You've all got the right to be angry if you've lost something due to the glitch and failed compensation, I just want to know what people were expecting (realistically).

They took the servers down for a patch. I'd expect them to take a full backup of the database, just in case something went wrong. And I'd expect them to be able to, afterwards, search through said backup and find all items that were in mushie shops at the time of shutdown, create duplicates of them, and send to their owners via Frederik or Donald. It's not rocket science.

The main reason why I'm angry for others (I didn't lose anything from this, because part of it has to do with me not playing as much and not even bother merching anymore) is because the action I felt isn't because Nexon can't recover them, they rather not recover or can't be bothered to recover them. People have sent tickets to Nexon and recovered items that have been lost for more than months on end. These items were lost for a mere couple of weeks. So rather than trying to be the understanding and responsible company, they choose the easy way out by showering people with 25k NX as opposed to actually trying to fix their problem.

You should probably re-read my statement to what I was commenting on because you're just elaborating on what I just said. You know why nexon doesn't have faith in most customers? Spend a week in the nexon forums. You'll see what players are seen as through the companies eyes.

Their entire attitude reflected by their TOS is "If you don't like it, quit." Maplestory is like a fast food restaurant job, an extremely fast employment refresh rate, so it doesn't matter how you treat them, because you just get a fresh batch later. They advertise for that very reason, to keep up that refresh rate. And no, that's not what I meant. Players go on that forum and complain about scrolls failing and how they deserve reimbursement as the %'s are obviously glitched. Cleaning it up is irrelevant, the content which Hime specifically has to deal with, leaves her a perspective that she passes a long to the company, as she's the closest thing to a "human lifeline" there is to nexon. So if Hime assumes the game is full of obnoxious 12 year olds with limited understanding of responsibilty and a GIMME GIMME persona, the corporation isn't going to think any differently.
