I don't think there can ever possibly be an un-flawed justice system that relies on any sort of jury because the conflict of human nature will always be a flaw. :l
Having a clump of people watch two entitled pimentos play "can you top this" to decide the fate of such a crime like this is really ridiculous to begin with, regardless of how "fair" it seems on paper.

Hah. Casey will serve the 4 counts consecutively, which means she will still serve around a year, which, while not great justice, is still nice.
edit: pineapple, good behaviour means she'll be out by August.

The difference is, what you stated was in fact directly contradictory to the scenario. It's like talking about how rain isn't hard to deal with when it's sunny outside.
If you disagree with me fine, but allow me to show you why, you're in fact, ignorant.
you Wrote:Can't speak for america, or this case, (were all the court proceedings televised there?) since this is the first i've heard of it. Should have stopped there. Like seriously, lmfao.
you Wrote:All I know is last time something hugely publicised went wrong in the UK involving a person and their offspring with tragic consequences, the media decided the parents were guilty and gave them hell, and convinced a very vocal amount of the country they did it, without any solid proof. Yeah, turned out they didn't have anything to do with it.
They admitted she did kill her, it wasn't even in question. To quote her father "An accident that caused a snowball effect". Though he denies it now.
you Wrote:If the people whose job it was to convince the jury that she did it were not able to do so, they can therefore chose to vote not guilty as they did.
The issue was that she wasn't convicted on any child charges. She admitted to killing the child through an accident, or her killing herself. It was clear there was some form of child neglect or abuse if the child was gone for 30 days with no engagement of the mother attempting to find her at all. In fact lieing to even the police that she was abducted.
you Wrote:I also think its extremely dubious that some of you think the judge should just go on and say at the end of the trial,"nope you're all wrong, heres the right verdict : guilty". Really?
If the judge believes the jury does not understand the charges, then yes he should and does have full authority to overrule them. A jury is civilians, not law/court experts.
you Wrote:That is the implication, yes. Of course the police should keep investigating until more evidence turns up that eithers is enough to convince jurors that Casey did do it, or infact, someone else did.
They wouldn't waste the money at this point because she couldn't be charged, also like to mention that once again, she did admit the death of the child was known by her, and that it was an accident.
you Wrote:I'm sure everyone on southperry knows better than to try arguing with you over anything though, that'd be like trying to cut grass by staring at it, nothings going to happen to change your mind no matter what because once you make up your mind, you insist you're right no matter what (I know I'm pretty much the same about it.) but you're not in the jury for the trial. it was not up to you to decide if she was guilty of murder or not.
..Yeah especially someone who doesn't even know the case and is just speaking out his irrelevant opinion.

She's already served 3 years in jail. So if she's out by August, that means she's served more than 80% of her sentence. That's godlike when compared to many other people who get out for good behavior.

Nope, that's right. My report was made immediately after sentencing. They've since done the math and she will absolutely be out by Wednesday. And then lightning struck Caylee's memorial site (for real)
Also Juror #3 came out and said
WHERE COULD SHE HAVE APPLIED DUCT TAPE AND CHOLOFORM!?!
Are you fucking kidding me, woman? The prosecution PRESENTED PHONE RECORDS THAT SAID SHE WAS ALONE WITH CAYLEE AT HER HOME FOR SEVERAL HOURS WHEN THE MURDER HAPPENED. These people didn't even listen in trial.
Jurors need to be held accountable for their choices, I think. That would stop stupidity. They should have to answer why they made their choices before the verdict is read and be given answers to any idiotic questions like this that they may have.

Who cares? She's not a serial killer, she's a selfish peach. She's not a threat to society. There is no reason to keep tabs on her.

Remains the biggest news story in Orlando. :|
Over dinner I was trying to talk to my family about Murdoch but apparently they said the only thing on the news is still Casey Anthony. So I went to go watch the local news...yep.

Man, you should tell that to all dem outraged people who want her blood otherwise they can't continue to live with their lives.
Hell, it wasn't even this bad when it came to OJ. (Though, given it was a child, and the internet is more widely in use I guess it is not fair to compare the two.)

I'm still outraged but at the failure of the American justice system (and to a lesser extent the idiot jury (part of whom have proven their intentions were just to make money off of this already)) but her outrageous acquittal isn't her fault and she has no choice but to continue living her life, as difficult as that may be for a proven murderer and sociopath. I'm sure she'll survive. There's really nothing else to talk about regarding her, specifically. Following her around isn't going to bring Caylee back. It's not going to provide any answers, or closure, unless someone catches her being hit by a bus on tape in some act of divine retribution.
Also Murdoch's wife taking the pie for him today was hilarious. The reaction of the entire room was just hilarious.

Can you tell me a few things the jury has done since the judgement? After they passed their judgement and all that I totally stopped keeping up on what went on with who and what and where and when.
Last I heard none of them wanted to speak to the press, but that has obviously changed.

This ridiculous and unjust. The american system is fucked up.
It's not the system, its the jurors fucking up their duty. They don't understand what reasonable doubt is. This verdict should've been thrown out. And a mistrial called.

Right away, haha, "BREAK FOR TEN MINUTES. OMGOSH, HE WAS GONNA THROW A PIE." I chuckled a bit. That was quite a leap of faith she made at that guy. xD

A couple of them have done big time interviews (without showing their faces) for tens of thousands of dollars, though some are receiving death threats and just want to be left alone. Others are being overly dramatic.
The few who have spoken have made it pretty clear that they either have no idea what reasonable doubt means, or that they went in with their minds made up already. I can't source any of this though--my TV is on HLN during daytime hours so I just hear bits and pieces, which is how I came to know so much about this in the first place.

100 bucks says shes at her lawyers house in Puerto Rico banging him. Also, I would like to say how pissed off I am that when I watch MSNBC late at night to watch Lock Up and Chris Hanson, they interrupt my happy time with this hoe bag.
